Interview with Peter White on Trips to Nicaragua

I talked to Peter White former teacher at Northport High School, attorney and author about his many years of work, bringing his students on trips to Nicaragua for the
purpose of helping the poor and learning about how to make a difference. The group
he created is called Students for 60,000. Peter's dedication to this work earned him
a Teacher of the Year Award and acknowledgement from Bill Clinton in the White house.
Most importantly his work has not only helped many people in need but has given many students the opportunity of a lifetime to grow and understand the power of making a difference. He has encouraged other schools to follow this lead.
Peter talked about his motivation to help others partly stemmed from his childhood
growing up poor made him sensitive to the plight of others. He has written a memoir
dedicated to his mother Kay who gallantly provided for her family alone. The Book
is called Kay's Triumph.
