About Barbara Weiss Acupuncturist

She began to look at the world of alternative medicine when the symptoms she was experiencing were not abated through traditional avenues of western medicine. Despite taking medicines prescribed to her by my doctor she was not getting better. In fact, she found that new symptoms often resulted from the medicines prescribed. She finally decided there must be a better way to regain well-being and embarked on a search that ultimately led her to acupuncture.

Ms. Weiss began as a patient and eventually became a practitioner as a result of personally experiencing its effectiveness. She received my M.S. in acupuncture from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture and serve on its Advisory Board.and is a New York State licensed and nationally board-certified acupuncturist and a NCCAOM diplomate (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental medicine) as well as a member of the AAOM (American Association of Oriental Medicine). She has been involved with alternative health modalities and yoga for over 20 years. Before becoming an acupuncturist, in addition to being a painter Ms. Weiss enjoyed a career in film and television as a designer and hold an M.F.A. from New York University.
